Thinking about the future is scary. I remember, last summer, I was thankful for an out-of-town trip because the city made me (in a sort of paranoid way) think about my future. But then I realized, we can’t really escape the future. It may be clear, it may be bleak. One thing that is sure though is that it is there, and it will happen. And the best part is, we can control it—at the most.
On the other hand, making lists is fun. So, I made a list to make thinking about my future more enjoyable: 12 things I must accomplish/start to accomplish during the year 2012. Sounds ambitious? That is the point!
- Enrol in graduate school - Still to decide on what program to take and which school to enrol to. It is also important that I do this NEXT YEAR.
- Learn how to drive - Manual or automatic?
- Start a business - This, I can’t talk about much yet.
- Teach at an all-boys school - Something I want as an experience
- Earn more - More than what I earn today
- Build a bookshelf - Ask someone to build me a bookshelf, buy (and read) more books, look for my unreturned books
- Have a grand birthday celebration - And by grand, I mean, grand
- Go on a mountain climb - Still haven’t done this. DO NOT ask me why
- File for a passport - Just in case.
- Travel alone - Also, something I want as an experience
- Write about one of the places I travel to - I haven’t written anything good about my travels
- Take a risk -Do something that didn’t involve asking for opinion from friends or overanalyzing
If you will notice, the list from being a life plan (Nos. 1-5) turned into a bucket list (Nos. 6-12). Hrhr. Truth is, I had trouble coming up with the list, but I thought real hard (because I already made the gfx, lol), so there it is. Another evidence of how ambitious a person can be.
