Going on a retreat
Things not to forget when going on a vacation or in my case, going on a retreat
- Toiletries
- Camera
- A notebook and a pen
- iPod
- A book
- Charger/s or Batteries
- Wallet
- Passport/IDs
Of course, the list will vary depending on the person’s personality. As for me, I need to have a camera, a notebook & a pen, and an iPod when I travel, because these things helps me appreciate the place I am visiting more.
Anyways, I am quite apprehensive in going on this particular retreat because according to my source (read: faculty members who had their retreat earlier than us), this retreat will encourage one to share. You see, I have problems with sharing (unless it’s the Internet, LOL) because sharing involves feelings and feelings involves crying and… I really do not like crying in front of people who don’t know me that well.
Also, I feel that these stories—they have to be earned. You and me, we have to have a certain level or degree of friendship or acquaintanceship before I tell you my stories because these stories, my stories, are part of what I am today.
So to my retreat partner (who I hope does not read this blog because that will be creepy on so many levels), IĀ apologizeĀ in advance for not sharing my stories with you, but who knows, maybe I will have a change of heart.
Now off to pack.
