Birthday gift for the bestfriend. My other friends says that I should have given her a book about love, but I think, every human being needs a book like this. The world does not revolve solely on love y’know.
Oh wait, it does. I think I need to change my perspective on things.
Funny thing is, I haven’t even read the book myself.

Book Sale purchase of the Weekend
I realized that to attain my goal of 50 Books this year, I must read at least 4 books a month. I am on my third book now, but honestly, I am losing interest with it and I don’t know what I’ll be reading next (despite my stack of unfinished books).
About the picture, I was looking for a book to give as a gift when I chanced upon this, Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger. A paperback copy costs roughly P400 pesos on your normal bookstores but I got this (which is in hardbound, btw) for only P165 in Book Sale. Plus, don’t you love the cover? Hooray for cheap books!
Anyways, it sucks that it is already Sunday afternoon. Weekend, indeed, flies by fast.

One new book per payday
Miguel Syjuco’s Ilustrado to start off.
Syjuco writes beatifully. There are many deep words I didn’t understand but on a broader aspect of the story, I think I did.
I am almost done reading this! Took me two weeks, ha!
In bullet form because I can’t seem to write this in a paragraph.

Hooray to you, Cat and Vince!
I have been a fan of Vince’s (love)Life since Cosmopolitan so when a friend said that the third installment of the book series is out already, I immediately bought a copy using money from my graduation fee kickback (SHHHHH).
The first book is still the best. Sucks that this third book has a predictable ending. Vince Teves still writes amazing, nevertheless. Never fails.

What I’m currently reading
Harmon Leon’s The Harmon Chronicles. I started reading this book weeks ago. I’m done with at least three-fourths of it. The escapades are funny, btw.
Ha! Nakakatamad mag-caption at mag-explain… ugh.

Books, books, books!
So here are some of the books I have, most of which I haven’t finished reading. I am currently on Jack Kerouac’s and Joyce Johnson’s Door Wide Open. I am done reading Cheaper by the Dozen (which was an awesome read, btw) and Ira Levin’s Stepford Wives. Don’t bother reading Stepford Wives, it has a horrible ending. 12 Steps to Quitting AJ was funny, but is not half as good as Vince Teves’ Vince’s Life. The Girl I Wanted To Be is okay. I am going to read Bridget Jones once I finish with Kerouac.
