Things to be thankful for, Cebu edition.
Recently, I came home from an out-of-town trip to Cebu with my classmates from Accountancy. Just so you know, I was originally an Accountancy student but, life happened and it got me shifting to Education.
I lived in Cebu for almost three years but I never got the chance to go back until recently. While there, I can’t help but notice how much has changed—I seem foreign in Cebu. LOL.
This out-of-town trip was extra special because it brought back nostalgic memories I had with Cebu and it made me recognize and be thankful for things that people usually take for granted. Like,
1. Airplanes and pretty clouds. It was not my first time to fly but the last time I rode an airplane was when I was in 4th year high school. Memories of my first airplane ride were very vague, all I remember was I was chewing gum to keep my ear from the pressures of high altitude. On the other hand, during this trip, I was lucky to have a window seat! The view was mesmerizing, I cannot help but exclaim “Ang ganda!”, waking my friend from her sleep. We even experienced turbulence on the way to Mactan—I was nervous and excited, all at the same time.

2. Good food! Cebu is definitely the place to eat! From meat to seafood, Cebu has it. And best of all, it’s cheap! Best food in this trip, for me, was Casa Verde’s Brian’s Ribs and STK ‘ta Bay’s Lechon Kawali with Oriental Sauce. (Photo courtesy of @disorganizedsuccess)

3.The province and the beach (!) Hungry for the beach, me and my friends endured the 3 hour trip on the way to Moalboal. The shoreline was (disappointingly) narrow even in low tide but who am I to complain, really? For someone who lives in the city; sand + sea + sun is a rarity, I might as well appreciate it.

4. Boybands! The Cebu gang may have different preferences when it comes to music but we are one and together when it comes to BOYBANDS!
5. Friendships that transcend over the years This trip wouldn’t have been possible if not for @disorganizedsuccesss and it wouldn’t have been extra fun if not for my college classmates. Failing our Accounting subjects might have separated us but the bond that we shared—watching Eat Bulaga over lunch, cramming on assignments, cheating on our subjects, practicing for Humanities and running from professors (!) will definitely keep us together.

Next year, Palawan! (Hopefully)
PS. I will post my film shots of Cebu, as soon as I exhaust all available shots and I have them processed.
